P. Is your condition has disappeared completely? How far are back to your normal life?
R. My disease, multiple myeloma is in remission. We assume the attitude that it is ever completely disappeared, but we monitor regularly and now I’m leading a healthy life … That’s especially important research in the field of multiple myeloma – the following might be the drug that saves my life.
Someone told me, ‘the healing begins when you realize that there is no cure. “I’m not back to normal life, but an extraordinary life because of the ideas I have received and the changes I made to my style life. In short, simplified.
P. “The tenor of the regular life that beckons, Lisa. Is fully committed to it?
A. I relation to the world, but with a different quality. I do my best not to get stressed or over-extend itself, as was my custom before. I do not think there is such thing as ‘normal life’ – that is life with many different shades. So I’m making a variety of things, but on my own terms. And I’m trying to invest in things that I like. I am also still recovering from stem cell transplant, so I have to take it easy sometimes.
P. “You read that are going through a severe trauma after the disease. How do you cope?
A. I’m coping as anyone knows. I have good days and bad. So I’m going through is not unusual – many people go through similar experiences after cancer. I do not want any of that sensation, but perhaps only to share and disseminate … I’m learning a lot and especially about how to practice compassion for myself.

R. I do not believe in a rocking career. I believe in living my life to the fullest and the race is only one aspect. I think I have sacrificed much of my life for my career to date and time to balance this right now. Cancer is a big wake-up call.
That said, I am exploring new creative opportunities. The point is to pursue happiness. I’ve also had some unexpected honors recently. I was invited to MC (Master of Ceremonies) a luncheon for the Queen in Toronto and I also sat at the head table. It was a great experience.
I also like to raise more awareness for cancer, multiple myeloma and stem cell technology. That will be an integral part of my career. Besides writing a book.
P. His “Cooking with Stella” will be launched shortly. How do you look back on the experience?
A. “Cooking with Stella” was memorable and enjoyable that gave me the opportunity to work with Dilip Mehta. I loved shooting in Delhi.
P. Have you signed more films?
A. I have not signed yet another film. I have no hurry. I do not want to spread myself like I’m getting offers to appear as a speaker throughout North America and use this as a platform to raise awareness for multiple myeloma.
